Center for Student Opportunity to release new College Access & Opportunity Guide in July
6/25/2010
Center for Student Opportunity (CSO) will release the 2011 College Access & Opportunity Guide in July. This unique college guidebook is designed to help first generation, low-income and minority students make their college dreams a reality. Members of the Alliance network are eligible for a special pre-order discount through July 12.
In 2009, with support from the Walmart Foundation, CSO commissioned a third-party evaluation of the inaugural College Access & Opportunity Guide. Across the board, feedback from low-income, first-generation students and their supporters confirmed the genuine need filled by the Guide in preparing today's underserved students for college.
"Our students have found this guidebook essential to their college searches," said Debbie Greenberg, Director of College Counseling for College Bound St. Louis. "It is easy to navigate and targets the information that's most important to them. There's no other resource that offers this kind and quality of information. 'Opportunity' is the perfect word; that's just what our students need."
The new and improved 2011 College Access & Opportunity Guide features:
- 284 colleges and universities committed to access, opportunity and success
- KnowHow2GO’s 4 step plan to college
- New articles and advice from college students and other experts
- Valuable information for parents and mentors, en Español también
Members of the America's Promise Alliance network can take advantage of a special pre-order discount through July 12. Use coupon code PREORD to save 40% or coupon code PREORD20 on orders of 20 or more books to save 50%!
