Community Action

America’s Promise Alliance supports and celebrates outstanding, community-wide, cross-sector efforts to improve the well-being of young people nationwide though dropout prevention efforts, and by recognizing communities, organizations, schools and businesses that are helping fulfill the Five Promises of caring adults, safe places, a healthy start, effective education and opportunities to help others for young people. The Alliance is working to help mobilize communities to innovate, collaborate, demonstrate results and celebrate success.

Promise Places

Does your organization deliver all Five Promises to the young people it serves, or do you know one that does?

Featured Communities

America’s Promise Alliance is tackling the Dropout Crisis by going directly to communities where the needs and opportunities are greatest, bringing together our national Alliance partners and their local affiliates with public and private organizations for concentrated work in 12 communities: Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Jackson, Louisville, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Oakland and Washington, D.C. Through these collaborations, we expect to see a number of improved outcomes for young people.

Promise Zones

As part of the 15 in 5 Campaign to deliver more Promises to 15 million at-risk young people in the next five years, the America’s Promise Alliance will partner with 10-12 targeted communities - called Promise Zones - to bring more Promises to more children through the three  Action Strategies.
