Knowledge Management
Our Knowledge Management work focuses on developing and managing the technological and process systems that improve America's Promise's ability to deliver resources and services effectively. It also includes research and evaluation activities, such as conducting research and data analysis on youth development and community collaboration, along with facilitating evaluations of our programs and initiatives.
These systems and activities enable America's Promise to create, gather, synthesize, manage and share knowledge assets strategically in order to drive national and local systemic change to support young people.
A dedicated Knowledge Management Department assists the organization in providing the services, resources, knowledge and support most needed by our stakeholders (e.g., programs, partners, communities, individuals) to meet the Grad Nation goals of ending the high school dropout crisis and preparing young people for college and the 21st century workforce.
Inspired by the thought leadership of The Boeing Company, and an understanding of the importance of knowledge management, America's Promise continues to increase its focus on this work.
Knowledge Management plays a vital role in America's Promise's Grad Nation work by:
- Developing systems to collect and share best practices internally and among our networks
- Encouraging a culture of data-driven decision-making through knowledge and research
- Leveraging the assets of our partners
- Improving America's Promise's ability to effectively communicate with and engage our networks
A flagship project of these efforts will be a new online Knowledge Center, scheduled to be online in 2012.
