Chattanooga, TN Community Summit
The Summit will focus on building Early Childhood Education and Out of School time collaborative partnerships to address the achievement gaps for school readiness and successful graduation.
DAY 1 (Community Summit): this will be a kick-off community event that will lead to the development of a multi-year action plan to identify and provide students with the supports needed to enter school ready to learn, progress successfully in academics and graduate prepared to be productive citizens.

- Community-led panel discussions: 1) community leaders panel; 2) youth panel
- Community Action Workshops: early school readiness; foundational literacy; middle school transition; high school graduation
DAY 2 (Professional Learning Day): this day will provide professional learning opportunities for Pre-K teachers, early childhood providers, kindergarten and first grade teachers on effective early childhood literacy strategies and resources that can help prepare children for success in school. In a special nigh session, Hamilton County Department of Education Pre-K and literacy coaches will partner with United Way of Greater Chattanooga to provide training, resources and support to select childcare centers who serve children from many of the lowest income neighborhoods.
