Columbus Dropout Prevention Summit
4300 International Gateway
Columbus, OH 43219
The vision for the “Community Partnerships: Making Graduation Possible” Dropout Prevention Summit is to bring together the community to collaborate on innovative approaches for addressing the issue of dropouts and develop a City-Wide Action Plan that will serve to mobilize the Columbus community in providing students with the support they need to graduate from high school and become productive citizens, ready for work, college and life.
The Summit represents a new beginning for working together in a practical and cost effective way for all community members to share their experiences and resources and to coordinate dropout prevention services. The summit will engage 100—200 community stakeholders to participate in this one day work/action exchange.
The “Community Partnerships: Making Graduation Possible” Dropout Prevention Summit is intended to:
- Build a sense of urgency around the crisis
- Secure a commitment to action from community leaders
- Result in action plans that strengthen current efforts and initiate new strategic activity around measurable policy and program supports for young people
