Kansas DropINs

Led by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the Kansas DropIns initiative was formally launched at the Kansas summit. Regional Pre and Post Summits are being held so that communities can work together to identify their strengths and challenges related to increasing the high school graduation rate. A state Youth Council has been formed to assist in identifying appropriate dropout intervention, prevention and re-engagement strategies. These youth will also be heavily involved in the regional pre and post summits as well as the main summit. Next steps include a business breakfast and promising practices celebration. Presenters included Lt. Governor Troy Findley and Secretary of Health and Environment Rodrick Bremby.
