Montana Dropout Prevention Summit

Summit Location: Luccock Park Camp south of Livingston, Montana, at the Montana Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council (MWTLC) youth camp

Hosted by the United Way of Yellowstone County, the Montana Dropout Summit examined how to eliminate the Native American graduation gap in Montana by the year 2018. Speakers included Denise Juneau, Superintendent of schools and tribal leaders. A key result of the summit was an agreement to develop and gain support for an education compact that could be supported by key organizations throughout the state that would then be shared with state legislators and local leaders. Outreach is planned to the state association of school administers and the state chamber of commerce.
