Oklahoma City Dropout Prevention Summit

Summit Location : Cox Convention Center in Downtown Oklahoma City 


Mayor Mick Cornett and the United Way of Central Oklahoma hosted the Oklahoma City Student Success Summit. 340 people attended the summit that included 200 ninth graders attended to gain their support in advocating for improved educational outcomes. Key partners included AT&T, United Way, OK Community Service Commission and Greater OK City Chamber.

  • The summit launched a series of policy discussions that will result in the creation of a dropout prevention plan for the city.

Summit Planning Team:

The planning team consisted of the Mayor's Office and City Council, the Oklahoma City Police Department, Weed and Seed Program, FACT, Oklahoma City Youth Council, Youth Leadership Exchange, United Way of Central Oklahoma, The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, The Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation, State Senator Susan Paddack, and State Senator Todd Lamb.
