Rochester Dropout Prevention Summit

  • The theme for the Rochester summit was "Caring Adults Make a Difference". Edward Moody, 13WHAM News was the Moderator. Opening remarks were made by Mayor Robert Duffy, Rochester City School Ditrict (RCSD) Superintendent Jean-Clude Brizard, President United Way Peter Carpino, County Executive Maggie Brooks, Deputy Secretary for Education Duffy Palmer, Student Representative Sarah Delaus. Closing remarks were made by Vice President of Public Affairs State Farm Mike Fernandez and Executive Staff Assistant Mayor Duffy's Office Hazeldene Hercules. There were 11 facilitated breakout sessions exploring and recommending strategies for" Caring Adults" to make a difference in engaging youth and supporting their success. Over 300 people participated in this summit.
