Aven LaRosa is an Associate on the Resource Development team, where she supports the curation and maintenance of donor relations and the systems and database that help facilitate successful stewardship. Prior to joining America’s Promise, Aven worked at Legacies of War whose mission is to advocate for increased resources to remove unexploded Vietnam War-era bombs (UXO) from Laos and support community-building initiatives for the Lao diaspora.
Aven, a New Hampshire native, graduated from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and French. As part of her anthropological studies, she spent eight months investigating the adverse effects of globalization and development on agricultural communities in the rural Isaan region of Thailand, through a partnership with Khon Kaen University. Aven enjoys cooking (and subsequently sharing delicious food with others) and believes that making positive, culturally competent human to human connections each and every day can be a key to making the world a better place.
