Daniel A. Casey
Mr. Casey is a Partner at K&L Gates LLP in Miami, FL, where his practice primarily focuses on commercial disputes. Mr. Casey is a trial lawyer who has tried over 100 cases in state and federal courts throughout the United States, both as a former prosecutor and as a Litigation partner at K&L Gates. Mr. Casey currently serves as the Administrative Partner of the firm’s Miami Office and sits on the firm’s Management Committee. Prior to joining K&L Gates, Mr. Casey served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, FL, prosecuting and supervising a wide range of capital cases and criminal offenses, and served as Chief of the Narcotics Division and Chief of the Robbery Division. He has also served as an Adjunct professor in the legal clinical program at the Shepard Broad Law Center of Nova Scotia Southeastern University. Mr. Casey is a Past Chair of the National Board of the YMCA of the USA, and has served on a number of other community service, educational, arts and professional association board of directors. Mr. Casey is a frequent author and lecturer on the topic of the proper treatment of children as victims and witnesses in court.
Mr. Casey received his B.S. from Wheeling Jesuit College, Summa Cum Laude, and his J.D., with honors, from the Georgetown University Law Center.
