Senior Director, Office of the President
Erin White is Senior Director in the Office of the President, where she is responsible for leading development of a new agenda articulating the practices, policies, and research that will help create the conditions for young people to succeed in America now and in the future. Erin brings 10 years of experience working in the social sector, with a particular particular emphasis on creating and sustaining innovative partnerships between government, nonprofits, foundations, and business to tackle complex social problems.
Erin joins America’s Promise Alliance from FSG, a mission-driven consulting firm dedicated to maximizing social impact. At FSG, Erin primarily led projects to help communities plan, implement, and evaluate their cross-sector, “collective impact” initiatives. These initiatives focused on education, child health and wellness, substance abuse, community development and other topics.
Erin believes strongly in the power of connecting ideas and practice. At FSG, she co-authored an article in Fall 2014 edition of the Stanford Social Innovation Review entitled “Making Public Policy Collective Impact Friendly”, as well as blogs and articles published on via the Collective Impact Forum and FSG. Erin has delivered keynote speeches and workshops to audiences nationwide on various topics in collective impact.
Prior to FSG, Erin worked as a strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton to address organizational and core mission challenges in public sector clients through planning, program evaluation, and process improvement.
Erin also previously served as a Senior Advisor to the Secretary at U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she led the Faith-Based and Community Initiative. In this role she developed policy to expand and enhance partnerships with nonprofit organizations in federal programs in order to more effectively deliver services to those in need. She measured and communicated performance on $19B in domestic food and nutrition assistance, international food aid, and rural development programs.
Erin holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard University and an M.Sc. in Public Policy and Administration, with honors, from the London School of Economics.
