Gabrielle Mathis serves as the Communications Manager at America’s Promise Alliance. In this role, she supports the media, content, and digital teams on marketing strategy and content development for campaigns and initiatives. Gabrielle spent her senior year of college interning with the America’s Promise Communications team. Prior to that, she worked as a research and social media intern at a D.C.-based PR boutique and as an education policy intern for the former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz while there, she supported the borough’s Summer H.E.A.T. program which placed local high school students in summer jobs. She has also worked at a fashion and lifestyle PR firm based in New York City.
Gabrielle graduated from American University with a B.A. in Public Communications and Italian Studies in May 2016. She was on the Dean’s List and also served on the Dean’s Diversity Committee, where she assisted with planning events focused on raising diversity awareness on campus. Gabrielle also volunteered as a School of Communications Ambassador in which she helped to recruit potential students and on-boarded and mentored incoming freshmen.
A native Brooklynite, Gabrielle is proficient in French, Spanish and Italian.
