Event Description

Washtenaw County’s Grad Nation Summit: Activism in Motion is being hosted on October 14th from 9 am-2 pm at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This summit will focus on resource mapping and student advocacy and how it relates to graduation rates in Washtenaw County. Adults will participate in workshops around barriers they meet in regards to client’s access to resources and will work on giving their “pitch” to youth attending this event. Youth will go through workshops on how to “show your cause” using art/theatre performance techniques to build self-advocacy skills. The afternoon will work as a convening space for youth and community partners to have an open discussion about the needs of youth in Washtenaw County and how we can better support these needs as a community.
