Event Description
The purpose of the Greenville County Afterschool Summit is to highlight the need for high-quality expanded learning programs and to demonstrate how a coordinated and aligned afterschool system can impact students’ long-term success. Forward-thinking leaders in education, public policy, philanthropy, youth services, and business along with parents and young people will gather to consider the state of afterschool programming in Greenville County, forge collaborations, and develop an action plan.
Keynote speaker Chris Smith, President and Executive Director of Boston After School and Beyond (BASB), will share how Boston has come together as a city to align afterschool and summer programs with the public school district. Smith will detail how BASB and its partners have strategically implemented proven program models to scale and shaped public awareness through cutting-edge evaluation and research.
