ALEXANDRIA, VA – The America’s Promise Alliance (the Alliance) today announced it has been selected the sole beneficiary of an upcoming international charity eBay auction sponsored by cable television network WE tv from August 12-22 featuring a one-of-a-kind Lady Diana Princess of Wales evening gown valued at more than $300,000. The blue chiffon gown designed by Catherine Walker was worn by Princess Diana to the Cannes Film Festival in 1987 and to the opening of Miss Saigon in 1989.

NASHVILLE – During closing ceremonies today at the America’s Promise Alliance’s (the Alliance) 2007 Regional Best Practice Forum, Alignment Nashville announced it will host a local summit designed to focus efforts on supporting Metro Nashville Public Schools’ work to increase the city’s high school completion rates. Currently, 25 percent of students nationally, compared to 32 percent in Nashville, fail to complete high school.
