America’s Promise Alliance (America’s Promise) today named John S. Gomperts as its new President and CEO. He succeeds Marguerite Kondracke, who has served in that position since 2004. Gomperts, currently Director of AmeriCorps, will oversee the day-to-day work of the organization and provide strategic direction for the Alliance’s mission to improve the lives of America’s young people. This includes leading Grad Nation, a large and growing campaign of dedicated individuals, organizations and communities working together to end the school dropout crisis.
