Trinity Woodson, 20, is a Junior Political Science Major on the Pre-Law Track at Hampton University. In 2018, her interest in educational disparities was sparked when she was selected to be a member of the Georgetown University Law Center’s Youth Advisory Committee for Girls of Color. In June of 2019, she founded her reading initiative ‘Trinity’s TumbleReads’ where she holds story time for children at a laundromat in her hometown of Suffolk, Virginia. Through her university, she volunteers, mentors, tutors, and is active in campus leadership. Trinity also brings an extensive background in political engagement and advocacy. She has interned for Congressman A. Donald McEachin, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the Water Insecurity Correction Coalition, and for the nonprofit Devoted to Children. Trinity joined America’s Promise Alliance because she is passionate about preparing youth in every stage of their lives as they embark on the journey of becoming successful adults.
