How states were chosen for GradNation's state activation initiative

The GradNation State Activation Initiative, a three-year collaboration between America’s Promise Alliance and Pearson, works to increase high school graduation rates by leveraging statewide change in three ways: by encouraging statewide innovation and collaboration, by sharing knowledge to accelerate adoption of proven strategies, and by developing successful models all states can replicate.

How states were selected
Grantees were selected from a diverse pool of 41 applicants in 26 states. All applicants – along with other organizations working to increase statewide graduation rates – were invited to join a new GradNation Activation Online Community, a hub for sharing strategies and successful practices, asking questions and sparking conversations.
