Jordyn Smith Fernández
Senior Director of Communications
Jordyn Smith is a marketing and communications professional with over 10 years experience in the nonprofit, education, and entertainment industries. As a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, she began her career as Director of Communications and Marketing for Usher Raymond’s youth nonprofit, Usher’s New Look. She served there for 5 years, spearheading campaigns like the #Disruptivators movement and summit, connecting over 500 global youth leaders around disruptive innovation, while raising millions in funding annually to support college and career development for underserved students.
Following Usher’s New Look, she joined Teach for America staff for six years, beginning as Director of Communications for the Miami Region, leading social media and marketing as a member of their development team for two years, and most recently working for four years as Managing Director, Product Marketing on TFA’s National Learning and Strategy Team.
As founder of Culporate, a cause marketing agency bridging social responsibility with influencer-driven campaigns, Jordyn led campaigns including the 2020 United to Save the Vote Presidential election campaign with RepresentUs, and the 2022 State of California’s Yes on Prop 28 campaign, unlocking $1 billion in funding for arts and music education in all K-12 public schools. She also led The American Passport Experience, an immersive exhibition with SuperBlue Museum supporting Latinx immigrants.
Jordyn is a published children’s book author of ‘Mixed with Love’ and Billboard Hot 100 charting songwriter. She enjoys spending her free time exploring art and nature with her partner and daughter in Miami.
