The Alliance Approach
We built this new community based on feedback from 180 of the leading nonprofit organizations in the country. That feedback created a community that is differentiated from similar offerings in several important ways.

Alliance Core Values
-
Rooted in gratitude and enthusiasm for the work, joy as a core value in the Alliance Community manifests as members showing up with that perspective grounding their contributions and partnership. Joy sustains us through the work that is tough; uplifted by stories of others.
-
Candor in Alliance spaces is more than just being honest – it’s being real and getting to the heart of what is going on, so we can work together on the root challenges and opportunities. Think about attending a work conference; after the final session of the day and you’re at dinner with a few trusted colleagues, your conversations start to get real. That is the level of candor and vulnerability the Alliance spaces aim for.
-
Radical support shows up in our Alliance spaces as a commitment to bringing mutual reciprocity in support of one another. When an ask comes through, when someone reaches out to talk to get your insight or ask a question, make a referral, we respond with a yes (and they do the same for us). This value dismantles competition and replaces it with a motivation to try to help others be the best versions of themselves both personally and professionally.
-
There is never enough time to devote to learning and improvement at the executive level, so when we do connect and collaborate - it has to be worthwhile. Within Alliance programming, everything we do is practical and applied to our member organizations’ respective missions, and the things leaders are wrestling with right now, in order to achieve real, tangible outcomes from our time together.
-
We establish trust over time and through living out our other values. It is in this space that we become and build the community we want. In conflict, in challenge, we seek to understand and to learn. When we can be vulnerable with each other, the work we are able to achieve together is taken to a whole new level.
