Carlos Hernandez Santiago

Carlos Hernandez Santiago is a third-year student at Bowdoin College studying Earth & Oceanographic Sciences and Education. Originally from Oaxaca, Mexico and San Diego, CA, Carlos brings a deeply personal perspective to his commitment to bridging the gap between underrepresented communities and educational resources and opportunities. Alongside his oceanography research, he has extensive experience supporting communities in San Diego and virtually through organizations including America's Promise Alliance. Outside of his academic and advocacy work, Carlos enjoys cooking and hiking. He is proud to be serving with APA for a second year as a Youth Trustee.
