Lauren Tomlinson

As Director of Communications at America’s Promise Alliance, Lauren leads the execution of strategic creative content that amplifies the Alliance’s mission and impact. She believes deeply in the power of effective storytelling to build understanding, foster collective action, and drive meaningful change.

Lauren brings a lifelong commitment to social impact and over 8 years of experience working with youth-serving organizations in the non-profit sector. She specializes in developing powerful brand language and targeted strategic messaging that motivates audiences to action. Prior to joining APA, Lauren held several roles on Teach For America’s central development team, where she directly contributed to securing over $15M in annual revenue and led a new content function to align fundraising communications across 40+ regional and national teams. She also holds valuable experience as a development and communications consultant, delivering high-impact support to small and growing organizations working across a range of issue areas.

Lauren is based in Brooklyn, NY and holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Sociology from New York University.
